Free Cell Phones For Low Income Families
The National Council For Better Schools and EdStar Wireless have teamed up to help families whose children attend a pubic school that is enrolled in the T.I.C.E.P. Program.
Most American families have come to rely on cell phones as part of their lives. Cell phones are convenient and can be very useful in case of emergencies. For example, if you were involved in a car accident, you can quickly pick up your cell phone and dial 911.
Unfortunately for many low income families, cell phone expenses can make having them out of reach. Most family plans start at 50 or 60 dollars a month. When you can barely make rent, having a cell phone might be the last thing on your mind. However, our goal is to help children get the best opportunity to become a successful student.
In order to reach that goal we feel very strongly that parent involvement is perhaps the most important component of a child's education however more effort must be made to facilitate communication between the teacher and the parent. Since we know good teacher parent communication is essential to increase parent involvement, NCFBS and EdStar developed the T.I.C.E.P. program employing the latest technology to provide teachers with a method to make daily contact with all parents a simple process.
In order for a child to derive any benefit from T.I.C.E.P., it is imperative for the parent(s) to have daily access to a cell phone. Unlike most free cell phones for low income families that are allotted a certain amount of minutes each month for free, we generally provide the free phone with unlimited talk, text and data for qualifying families.
Low income families can get free cell phones by checking with their school district or child's school to find out if the school participates in our free T.I.C.E.P. program.
To get the free cell phones for low income families, apply for it. You will need to give them your pay stubs to show that you and your family are qualified as low income. They also need to check every year to make sure that you continue to qualify as low income if you plan on continuing to use the T.I.C.E.P. phones for low income families.
