The EHR not only sends the reminder in a positive non punitive manner but it also requires the student to respond by sending a textmanner but it also requires the student to respond by sending a textmessage back such as, "I don't have any homework today," or "Ihave completed all assignments.  Most students cooperate with the EHR due to the fact that have the benefit of using a full featured cell phone without cost.

All EHRs and the responses from students are recorded and stored for viewing by authorized staff members of referring agencies, schools, courts, or other legally deployed entities.

Homework is a fundamental and critical component of most school districts' curriculums.  The student that consistently completes homework assignments is better prepared to embrace new concepts, brings greater confidence into the classroom, has a greater positive outlook on the ability to meet educational challenges, and is an overall better student.

Becoming a better student minimizes behavioral problems and increases self esteem, yet a greater commitment to explore new technology to assists students with certain psychosocial deficits has not been fully addressed.

The time has come when modern societies have copious opportunities to utilize new technology to improve the odds that a student will find greater success in public school systems without significant increase to budgets.  Unfortunately, many school districts fail to take advantage of tech tools or even fail to recognize that they even exist.

Students that are fortunate to participate in the A.T.L.A.S. Program, have access to the EDSTAR HOMEWORK REMINDER (EHR)on a daily basis.  The program employs the use of multiple technologies to send daily automated TSMS to remind the student to complete homework assignments - yes it's true, sometimes a student does just forget.

"I forgot" is the No. 1 excuse kids give for not doing their assigned daily duties, picking up their messes and doing their homework!
